USEC Bilbao Congress 2022, the exclusive and unique congress and exhibition event where professionals, policy makers and industry from the Security, Emergency and Mobility sectors will share a board level space with decision-making and prescriptive power, will be held at the Euskalduna Conference Centre at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao on May 25th and 26th next year.

The Euskalduna Palace

Inaugurated on February 19, 1999, the Euskalduna Jauregia Conference and Music Center is a very unique building; one of the flagships of the new Bilbao of the 21st century.

Conceived by its architects as a ship in permanent construction that emerges from the dock where the Euskalduna Shipyard used to be. The Palace won the Enric Miralles Award 2001 at the VI Biennial of Spanish Architecture.

It is a large multifunctional complex of 58,200 m², located in the center of Bilbao and very close to the international airport.

The Euskalduna Conference Center is located in the heart of the city. Just a few minutes from the international airport of Bilbao and with excellent connections by road, rail and sea.

With highly versatile facilities, it provides multiple solutions and assemblies. Its 4,200 m² showroom, divisible, has easy access to goods for assembly work.

The Euskalduna Conference Center won the Apex Award for "Best Conference Center in the World 2003". Award presented by the AIPC (International Association of Convention Centers), which covers 57 countries around the world.

To decide on the award, a team of experts led by Professor Jaworsky of Heilbronn University evaluated nine different areas:

  • building,
  • technical equipment,
  • exhibition area,
  • congress management,
  • restoration,
  • final evaluation of the congresses,
  • destination,
  • location of the center
  • and local hotels.

The city of Bilbao

Bilbao is a fashionable city, friendly, avant-garde, well communicated and in continuous transformation.

A reference as a business, tourism and leisure destination. It is home to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and is connected by a modern international airport.

The town of Bilbao, founded in 1300 by Don Diego López de Haro, is located in the north of Spain. Capital of the province and historical territory of Bizkaia, it has about 350,000 inhabitants. It is the most populated city of the autonomous community of the Basque Country and the head of the metropolitan area of Bilbao. A conurbation of more than 1,000,000 inhabitants that extends along the Nervion estuary.

On May 19, 2010, the city of Bilbao was recognized with the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize, considered the Nobel Prize for urban planning, awarded by the city-state of Singapore.

In 2012, its mayor, Iñaki Azkuna, was recognized with the Mayor of the World Award. This award is granted every two years by the British foundation The City Mayors Foundation. A recognition of the urban transformation experienced by the Biscayan capital since the 1990s.

In 2017, Bilbao was voted Best European City 2018 at The Urbanism Awards 2018, which is awarded by the international organization The Academy of Urbanism. The city boasts superb standards of cuisine and quality of life. It offers more than 4,000 rooms in modern three-, four- and five-star hotels, many of them located near the Euskalduna Conference Center.
